A 3rd ed. RuneQuest "Earth" product, Land of Ninja details a fantasy version of feudal Japan for use with RuneQuest. It is comprised of a Players Book also referred to as the "Book of the Samurai," a Gamemaster Book or "Book of the World" and a Scenarios Book, the "Book of Adventure." Also included is a map of the japanese isles and a booklet of character sheets and NPC stats.

The "Book of the Samurai" covers how to create characters appropriate to the setting and introduces ki along with skills for its use by characters. The Magic and Religion section of the book covers how to use the RuneQuest magic system in the campaign world. After a section on travel concerns, the book is rounded out with a section each for samurai and ninja, detailing their activities and lifestyles.

The "Book of the World" contains a brief treatment of geographic and socioeconomic information before diving into a listing of interesting creatures from japanese myth. A section listing reference works to consult for further information is given to make up for the paucity of greater detail in the first part of the book.

Lastly, the "Book of Adventure" provides notes on campaign design, a couple of basic scenario outlines and one fleshed-out adventure.
